Dr Teresa Li graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 2007 and has been practising dentistry for 19 years.

After beginning her career in Kempsey, Teresa and her husband Dr Leigh Jiang took the big leap of opening their own dental practice together. Nearly two decades later, TL Dental has grown alongside the team, patients and Port Macquarie community they love.

Teresa likes dentistry that actually changes how people feel about their teeth — fixing what’s broken, improving what isn’t working, and making a smile feel like yours again. She especially enjoys caring for older patients and people with more complex restorative needs, where treatment may happen gradually over time. For Teresa, one of the most rewarding parts of dentistry is seeing someone regain their comfort, confidence and ability to enjoy their smile again.

If you’re nervous (or perhaps slightly mortified that it has been quite some time since anyone wearing gloves inspected your teeth) there is no lecture waiting for you. Teresa is gentle, patient and takes time to understand what you’re comfortable with. She’ll explain treatment clearly and guide you through each stage so you know what to expect without feeling rushed or pressured.

Outside work, Teresa loves tennis, skiing, learning about skincare and beauty and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. She also speaks Cantonese.

And there is one skill not covered by the Bachelor of Dental Science curriculum:

Teresa is apparently frighteningly good at Mario Kart.

Her family may dispute exactly how good, but Teresa would like the record to show that she considers herself the one to beat.
